Moby
Moby
Born: September 11, 1965, Harlem, New York, NY, United States.

One of electronic music's most visible and talked-about figures, Moby's career comprises many years of work and many musical twists and turns. His career stretches all the way back to early rave and acid-house releases in the late 80s and early 90s as U.H.F. and Voodoo Child, through to his much loved/hated R&B/blues/pop/techno sample cut-ups of today.

His most notable tracks from his early days include "Next Is The E", "Everytime You Touch Me" and "Into The Blue", and the classic "Go", as well as his early albums "Ambient" and "Early Underground". He was manged by Marci Webber.

A brief outing into more rock-oriented territory came with 1996's "Animal Rights", followed by "I Like To Score" in 1997, highlighting his past movie score contributions (most notably a remix of the "James Bond Theme").

In 1999 and 2000, Moby found unprecedented pop success with the album "Play" and the slew of singles and radio tracks that came from it ("Honey", "Run On", "Why Does My Heart Feel So Bad?", "Natural Blues", "Porcelain", "Southside", and more). Among other things, his appearance as a DJ in the foyer of the 2000 MTV Video Music Awards (wearing a gold suit and playing two golden copies of "Play") led many people to decry him as a sellout. Nonetheless, his follow-up album "18" tinkered very little with the "Play" sound and still received a mostly positive reception in 2002.

Besides the many faces of his music, Moby also gathers controversy for his outspoken religious, dietary and animal rights views, as well as persistent rumors that his live shows are mostly pre-recorded. Every Moby release from the mid-90s onward has borne the text "Animals are not ours to eat, wear or experiment on. Thanks to Christ."

Slynk
Slynk
Slynk (born 1986) has musical roots that run deep. Before he’d left school he was addicted to music and teaching himself how to produce funky joints in his bedroom. In 2004 he was given his first pair of decks as a gift which spurred a strong addiction to vinyl. He scored his first residency in his hometown Brisbane, Australia 2006 djing every Friday night at a New York style café underground. This is where he stayed for close to 2 years experimenting and refining his skills.

It wasn’t until April 2008 when he was discovered by some local dj agencies, that he began shaking rumps at Brisbane’s top funky joints. In just 12 months he went from bedroom dj to one of Australia’s top funky breaks djs and producers playing interstate and overseas with full support from some of the world’s most respected vinyl slingers including: A Skillz (Fingerlickin’), Fort Knox Five, Freddy Fresh Worldwide, Craig Charles (BBC 6Music), DJ Moneyshot (Solidsteel) and more.
The Librarian
The Librarian
The Librarian, the moniker of Ohio-based Matthew Cooper, brings new life to a club scene that has become status quo with unabashed charisma and showmanship. His heart lies in the sounds of techno with strong gothic undertones and minimal composition. Constantly on the cusp of the avant-garde, he delights in giving listeners a sound that they generally have never heard. As a DJ he has performed with artists such as Ark, Outputmessage, Derek Plaslaiko, Kate Simko, JPLS, Skoozbot, Kyle Geiger, and Ryan Elliott of international fame. Although he has primarily been a DJ for the last six years, production is his new direction and love. The Librarian brought us his first single entitled The Hornet’s Nest in 2007. This single is taken from his most recent work entitled The Colony. Eram quod es, eris quod sum.

Rennie Foster
Rennie Foster
Rennie Foster has been a well respected figure in the Canadian music and art community since he was just a teenager. He influenced many as an early pioneer of the Hip-Hop / B-Boy movement and later the House Music and Techno / Rave scene with his relentless underground spirit and dedication to breaking ground with everything he puts his mind to whether he was making music for the local television network, judging the DMC Dj contest or fighting for the right to dance at City Hall. Rennie is very civic minded, a long time member of the Universal Zulu Nation and he has performed and produced music for various charitable causes such as Amnesty International.

After visiting Japan several times to play, Rennie fell in love with the techno oriented Tokyo club scene and has since relocated to Tokyo where he now resides with his half- Japanese twin daughters, the main source of inspiration for this dedicated single father and full time sound pilot.
Rennie has been making himself heard the last few years with a well received string of singles and remixes with labels such as Subject-Detroit, Rebirth, Teknotika, Monoid, Synewave, Communique, Rewired (Pure-Plastic), Soiree, F-Communications etc. His music is heavily supported by well known taste-makers such as Laurent Garnier, Derrick May, Dave Clarke, Sasha, Dave Seaman, James Holden and too many more to name. Rennie’s tracks have been licensed for mix CDs by the likes of Kevin Saunderson, Trentmoller and Danny Tenaglia.

Rennie runs two labels. “Futago Traxx”, known for mainly vinyl releases dedicated to organic and tribal techno fusion and the more recent upstart imprint “Dirty Works” focused on the new era of digital music and combining classic house and techno sensibility with modern dance music production.
Rennie's debut full length album "The War of Art" was released in 2007 to critical acclaim for both the music and outstanding jacket design by minimalist designer and MoMA/Smithsonian alumni Alexander Gelman.
Rebirth Records, Italy will release Rennie's next full length album February, 2010.

Rennie has showcased his unique and highly technical Dj style in clubs and venues all over North America , Europe and Asia holding his own alongside a diverse range of top players from Frankie Knuckles to Daniel Bell to Grandmaster Flash and a long list of other big names. He is currently sponsored by RANE Serato Scratch Live and utilizes both digital and vinyl sources seamlessly. His sound is jackin’ and relentless yet deep and soulful. Effortlessly blurring the lines between house music, techno, minimal and other more profound styles. Since re-locating to Japan in 2004 Rennie has become one of the most important and recognized characters in the Japanese club scene. Recently LOUD magazine ranked Rennie Foster as #22 in Japan’s “Top 50 DJs” alongside such luminaries as Ken Ishii, Fumiya Tanaka, Towa Tei and Kentaro.

All in all Rennie Foster is a hard working purveyor of high quality techno and house based music, a dedicated student of dance music’s rich history and a steadfast believer in the bright future of electronic music.
